Meet Darcy!
Being a teen or young adult today is hard.
Anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing can make it feel impossible to keep up, and when emotions get overwhelming, it’s easy to feel stuck.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—I help teens and young adults navigate all of it, from everyday stress to the heavier stuff like self-harm, suicidality, and addiction.
I’ve spent my career working with teens in schools, therapy offices, and higher levels of care like residential and intensive outpatient programs, supporting those in their toughest moments. I have a background in Child and Family Studies and Addiction Studies from Syracuse University and earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC. Along the way, I trained extensively in DBT, anxiety treatment, and crisis intervention, so I know how to help when emotions feel out of control.
My approach?
Warm, down-to-earth, and no judgment—ever. Therapy with me isn’t just about coping skills (though we’ll build plenty of those); it’s about understanding why certain patterns keep showing up and working through them in a way that actually sticks. I pull from a mix of therapeutic styles to make sure therapy fits you, not the other way around:
• DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy): When emotions feel overwhelming, you don’t just need someone to tell you to “breathe”—you need actual tools. DBT gives you real, practical skills to manage big feelings, handle stress, and navigate relationships without losing yourself in the process. I bring DBT into sessions in a way that’s accessible, not rigid—so whether it’s learning how to ride out tough emotions or setting boundaries that actually stick, we’ll make it work for you.
• Psychodynamic Therapy: Sometimes, struggles run deeper than just the “here and now.” Psychodynamic work helps us connect the dots between your past experiences, relationships, and emotions so we can figure out what’s really driving the anxiety, self-doubt, or self-destructive patterns. No, this doesn’t mean lying on a couch while I take notes—it’s about having real, meaningful conversations that help you understand yourself on a whole new level.
• Client-Centered Therapy: At the end of the day, you are the expert on your own life. My job isn’t to “fix” you (because you’re not broken); it’s to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make the changes that matter most to you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I’ll always meet you where you are—whether that means helping you process something deep or just having a space to breathe and be yourself.
I offer both in-person sessions in Los Angeles and virtual therapy across California, so no matter where you are, I’m here to help. You don’t have to keep struggling alone—let’s work together to help you feel more in control, more at peace, and more like yourself.
